It’s TTT time! As usual, if you’re curious about this, Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl hosts these weekly challenges (so, see her blog for more info). Today’s theme is cozy and wintery reads. Well, as y’all know, I love me a good scary book, and there is something about being snowed in and being frightened out of my PJs. But I also love a good wintery romance or cozy thriller. So, here is going to be a hodgepodge list of winter-themed books.
- Snowy fantasy books based on folklore
- True Crime
- Anything Stephen King
- Most definitely The Shining
- Misery
- Favorite rereads
- Neverwhere
- Little Women
- Any of the HP books but #6 is my favorite – snow and decadent Christmases galore
- Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
- Childhood favorites
- Thrillers, mysteries, and suspenseful books
- The Kurt Wallander series
- Anything Agatha Christie but definitely Murder on Orient Express
- Bleak or post-apocalyptic themes
- Romantic plots
- Anything Nora Roberts but specifically Northern Lights
- Lovely, Dark, and Deep
- Short Stories
- Poetry
Great list! I’ve read some of these, and some are on my tbr.

Thank you. I couldn’t narrow it down to just 10 books, so categories it was!

Misery would be perfect this time of year. Especially if you are stuck inside, wondering what could possibly be out there. I need to get my hands on The Bloody Chamber. I’ve been meaning to read Angela Carter for years. Great list!

I just recently read that collection of short stories and they were all so good.

I like how you broke them down into separate categories! I need to get to Bear and the Nightingale ASAP because it truly screams winter read!!

These are all great! I love how you sorted this. So many good reads, and genres, to be found! I’m especially excited to see some poetry and non-fiction on someone’s list. ESPECIALLY since you picked two of my favourite true crime novels. Thanks for sharing!

From King, definitely ‘Salem’s Lot and The Stand. From Roberts it changes depending on my mood but right now I’m really loving her Bride quartet.

I just read those last month or the month before. So good! I’m currently super into an her Irish stories. I loved Salem’s Lot and I’ve saved The Stand to read this month during the dark hours!

Oooh, enjoy! The Stand is super character heavy, lots and lots of people to get to know but they’re all so amazingly real 🙂

I like a good scary read too in the winter, along with occasionally a more cozy type mystery. Something about the cold months! Anyway Murder on the Orient Express sounds great- I’ve never read it but I did see the recent movie and that made me want to read it! Also I’ve never read the Road- I’ve heard it’s pretty bleak but winter is good for post- apoc too! 🙂

The Road is on my all-time favorite lost. It’s so good. And yes, it’s super bleak.
