US releases – June books to keep on your radar

Hi bookies,

Keep your eyes peeled for these goodies! As always, I’ve linked the titles to my Goodreads reviews or to the actual book page.

Books I reviewed before release:

Waking the Witch by Pam Grossman; June 4 Memoir, Feminism, Witchy Stuff

I loved this ARC. Pam Grossman has a wonderful podcast, The Witch Wave. She presents everything with the right mix of academic nerdiness and personal experiences and anecdotes. Her book does exactly the same while being incredibly well written with a nice flow and a clear voice.

Naturally Tan by Tan France; June 4 Memoir, LGBTQA+

Tan is such a lovely person and that really becomes apparent through his words. This book is an easy but very interesting read. The nuanced levels of meaning of the title of the book are just one indicator of how well done this memoir truly is.

Books I am anticipating to read:

Valencia and Valentine by Suzy Krause June 1 Contemporary Lit

This was actually my Amazon Prime First Read selection. It was entertaining but I feel mixed about it. You can read why here.

The Girl in Red by Christina Henry June 18 Fantasy, Retellings, Horror

I love, love, love Christina Henry and her Alice in Wonderland Retellings are on my all-time favorites list. This book has everything: a wolf on the cover, darkness, Little Red Riding Hood references, and Christina Henry’s voice. How can I say no to this?
