I have been super quiet in the blogosphere and even quieter on my reading front. Is it a slump? Did I get busy? I don’t know.
It started with my dog getting super sick and my mental capacity was completely ocupied with his recovery, which in truth was much harder and slower than I had expected. I ended up rewatching all of the Friends seasons and binged rom coms to keep my mind from worrying about him. It saddened me that books couldn’t give me solace. I got behind on my reviewing schedule (something I actually take really seriously) and I lost track of my TBR entirely.
But I am really hoping the upcoming Dewey’s Reverse Radathon this weekend will get me motivated again. Although I won’t have time to dedicate the entire 24 hours to reading, I am planning to put in a solid effort. I know that if I make time for this and engage with the bookish community, I will get inspired again.
I also want to catch up on my ARC reviews. I have read the books by now but still need to write up my blog posts. With my strong reading start this year, I am still ahead of my Goodreads goal, yet I do have several must-reads for this year left. I love a good challenge and am determined to finish my 2019 TBR over the next several months. It probably means I have to resist all those shiny new releases 😉 but I can make this work. I am trying to find the right balance between keeping it loose and fun without pressure AND accepting my personal need to finish what I started. Do you guys struggle with this?
Any tips to get back on track? Both with reading and with blogging?
I guess that is it for now. I hope to chat with y’all soon!
