I am beyond happy that I can start off my creepy fall love with THREE awesome readathons: RIP 14 and Something Wicked Fall, which both run the entire months of September and October as well as Fright Fall, which takes place in October. I actually just picked up reading speed over the Labor Day weekend and was able to finish a few outstanding books, including Jane Eyre! I can now start afresh with all my horror-themed reads and hope to keep this momentum!
Readers Imbibing Peril XIV (#ripxiv)
As usual, RIP has multiple participation levels.
- Peril the First – 4 books
- Peril the Second – 2 books
- Peril the Third – 1 book
- Peril of the Short Story
- Peril on the Screen
- Peril of the Review – write a review and have the chance to be featured on the RIP blog
Something Wicked Fall (#somethingwickedfall)
This readathon is one of the most action-packed I participate in each year. The lovely Michelle from Castle Macabre pulls out all the stops! If you want to join this particular readathon, I highly recommend you find us in the Seasons of Reading Facebook group. We are quite an active bunch.
This readathon features a Doctor Sleep read-a-long running Sep 1 through Oct 20. It is also divided into monthly themes: September is Gothic month and October is Horror month. And one of the best parts are the group movie dates. There will be a few movie watch-a-longs and Michelle will create a Slack group for that. I believe dates and movies will be determined in the Facebook group, but Midsommar is for sure on the list!
Fright Fall (#frightfall)
Michelle holds another readathon over at Seasons of Reading that is limited to October only. She hasn’t put up the official announcement for it, yet, so be sure to check her blog.
Since all three readathons have overlapping themes, I am not going to make readathon-specific TBRs. My goal is to accomplish Peril the First, Peril on the Screen, Peril of the Review, join Seasons of Reading movie nights, and to review the two horror ARCs I have on my docket.
Here are some possible reads for the next two months:
Are you joining any of these readathons? Let’s connect! I’ll be updating here on the blog, on Twitter , and in the Seasons of Readings Facebook group.
