Hi lovelies,
YES, YES, YES, it is Dewey’s readathon time! This Saturday, April 25th, 8 am EST, I will embark once again into the world of little sleep, lots of coffee, many million literary words, fantasy and magical plots, social media frenzies, and virtual friendships. And guys, I AM HERE FOR IT.
I love our twice-yearly 24hrs of pure reading joy. I love the prep phase. I love the anticipation. I love the barely-keeping-my-eyes-open phase. I love writing updates here and on Twitter (@evilbibliotaph). And most of all, I totally love reading across the board snuggled up with my dogs, sipping hot coffee or tea, and eating all the snacks. And yes, I also love tallying my stats, doing a little graphing of said stats, and posting my wrap-up blog. Sidenote: with the current world situation my pantry has never been so prepared for this before!
I don’t think I will actually have a specific TBR. My current reading is highly mood-driven as I can’t be sure what my emotional state is from one moment to another. I have been on a cozy mystery kick and Lea Wait with her Maine mysteries has totally fulfilled that craving. I’ve read the first three books in the Maineley Needlepoint series and downloaded the next 3 or 4 onto my Kindle. I could easily see continuing this collection on Saturday. I’ve also started (and sadly paused) Leigh Barudgo’s Ninth House and Peter Carey’s Oscar and Lucinda, and thus might pick them back up. Of course, there is Stephen King’s newest release If It Bleeds, which just screams to be read. And my physical book stack on my nightstand is outrageously high. Josie Silver’s The Two Lives of Lydia Bird is especially speaking to me. There are many, many more books on my office shelf or on my Kindle. So it’s safe to say, I won’t be starving for literature.
Let me also take the time to link you again to the blog I wrote many moons ago about how to prepare for Dewey’s readathon here.
I hope to hear from you between now and whenever. Let’s cheer each other on! Leave your TBRs or thoughts in the comments below.
Happy reading!

P.S.: Come visit me in the Goodreads group for hours 20 and 21 where I’ll be hosting discussions and/or find me on the official Dewey’s blog or chatting away on their Twitter account (@readathon) for hours 19 and 20.
I’m participating too and I’m so excited! Best of luck for all of us 🙂 I’m also very in a mood-y reading mood (haha!), I’m thinking of picking up fast reads like thrillers for the day 😉

It’s been such a messed up and stressful time and I’m so ready. I’m ready for a good night’s sleep tonight and ready for reading whatever all day and night. I’m not striving for 24 hours at all because I really do need to keep my sleep schedule in tact this time around as I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Who has?! Can’t wait though!

It’s hard to tell from the outside that I’m Readathoning, since lately I rarely leave my house anyway. But today I’m skipping all the cooking and laundry and me and the cats are here to READ. I hope your books are being rewarding today!
