2021
No goals!
2020
My goal for 2020 is to read 100 books.
BOOK COUNT: 137/100
Breakdown
100 books include audiobooks, ARCS, library books, and my own copies. Of those,
- 25 must be shopped from my own shelf (ARCS not included),
- 10 must be from the 1001 book list,
- 10 must be audiobooks,
- 10 must be graphic novels
- 5 must be written and read in German
- 15 must be for review through NetGalley or similar AND
- 1 must be read out loud (children’s books not included).
I am also planning to read 12 books with my book club (one per month) and to maintain a written reading journal in which I note down thoughts and impressions as well as favorite quotes. Of course, I’ll be participating in various readathons throughout the year. I am again “softly” participating in the Popsugar reading challenge meaning at the moment I am not fulfilling categories on purpose but will see if books I choose fit into one. I will also “softly” participate in the ABC challenge (read one book starting with each letter of the alphabet). Every month, I am planning on tackling one classic and at least one ARC. I will most likely maintain my stance on avoiding series and focus on stand-alone novels. I am hoping to read more short stories and novellas, poetry, and non-fiction.
How many books do I have left in each category?
- books I own: 0*
- 1001 books: 0**
- audiobooks: 0
- graphic novels: 0
- books in German: 0
- ARC reviews: 0
- books read out loud: 0
- 12 book pledge: 2
*in my monthly blog posts, I will underline books I own AND ARCs (because technically I own them at that point) but in this tally, I am only counting the books I own and not the ARCs.

2018
Update: I completed my Goodreads reading goal, my ARC review goal, and my 1001 book list goal! I also finished the Popsugar reading challenge with 2 hours to spare on December 31st.
My official 2018 Goodreads reading goal is 75 100 books. My unofficial goal is to read 100 books, but I am keeping that a flexible number. I want this, of course, to be fun without pressure. I’ve also set a few other goals.
- I am again partaking in the Popsugar Reading Challenge – trying to fulfill 50 categories.
- I would like to review at least 15 ARCs this year.
- I MUST read 25 books I own.
- I am going to read 10 books from the 1001 Books To Read Before You Die list.
I am not certain, yet, how I will structure this page for 2018, but for now, I am going to keep a running tally.
Total Tally: 124/100
Popsugar Category Fulfilled: 50/50*
Reviewed ARCs: 24/15
